Globle Capitals – The Daily Capital City Guessing Game
Find today's mystery capital on the globe. The hotter the colour, the closer you are.
Type any capital to make your first guess.
What is Globle Capitals?
Globle Capitals takes the Globle Game formula and zooms in on the world's capital cities. Each day there's one mystery capital. Type the name of any capital city and it appears on the globe as a coloured dot – pale when it's far away, deep red when you're close. It's a capitals quiz and a hot-and-cold puzzle in one.
How to play Globle Capitals
1. Guess a capital city
Type any capital – for example Paris, Nairobi or Lima – and press Guess. Common spellings like Kiev, Peking or Delhi are recognised.
2. Check the distance and colour
The city appears on the globe with its straight-line distance to the mystery capital. Hotter colours mean you're closer.
3. Find the mystery capital
Keep guessing – there's no limit – until you find it. Your Globle Capitals streak is saved separately from the country game.
Globle Capitals vs Globle Game
In the country game, distance is measured border to border, so neighbours are 0 km apart. In Globle Capitals, distance is measured city to city, which makes it trickier: two capitals in neighbouring countries can still be hundreds of kilometres apart. Knowing roughly where each capital sits inside its country is the key to winning.
Tricky capital cities to remember
Many players lose guesses on countries whose capital isn't their biggest or most famous city. These come up often in Globle Capitals:
| Country | Capital city | Often confused with |
|---|---|---|
| Australia | Canberra | Sydney |
| Canada | Ottawa | Toronto |
| Brazil | Brasília | São Paulo / Rio de Janeiro |
| Turkey | Ankara | Istanbul |
| United States | Washington, D.C. | New York |
| Switzerland | Bern | Zurich / Geneva |
| New Zealand | Wellington | Auckland |
| Nigeria | Abuja | Lagos |
| Pakistan | Islamabad | Karachi |
| Kazakhstan | Astana | Almaty |
| Morocco | Rabat | Casablanca |
| Vietnam | Hanoi | Ho Chi Minh City |
| Myanmar | Naypyidaw | Yangon |
| Tanzania | Dodoma | Dar es Salaam |
| Côte d'Ivoire | Yamoussoukro | Abidjan |
