Globle Capitals Unlimited – Practise World Capital Cities by Continent

Endless capital city rounds – pick a continent or play the whole world.

Type any capital to make your first guess.

Learn every capital city with Globle Capitals Unlimited

The daily Globle Capitals puzzle is the same for everyone. Globle Capitals Unlimited gives you a fresh random capital every round, so you can drill the ones you always forget. Give up whenever you like to see the answer, then play again.

Because every guess shows its exact distance to the mystery capital, it's more than a capitals quiz: you also learn where each city sits on the map and how far apart the world's capitals really are.

How to practise capital cities

Pick one continent at a time

Choose a continent above the guess box. Thirty or forty capitals are much easier to learn than 195 at once.

Guess before you use hints

Try at least three capitals before revealing the continent or country. Struggling to recall is what makes the answer stick.

Revisit the capitals you gave up on

Note the capitals you had to give up on and look for them in your next session. A few minutes a day beats one long cram.

Test yourself on the daily puzzle

When a continent feels easy, go back to the daily Globle Capitals challenge and see if your streak improves.

Capital city memory tips by continent

Africa

Learn capitals in coastal order. West Africa's capitals are mostly ports – Dakar, Banjul, Bissau, Conakry, Freetown, Monrovia, Accra, Lomé – while inland states like Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger have river or Sahel capitals: Bamako, Ouagadougou, Niamey.

Asia

Group the “-stans” together: Astana (Kazakhstan), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Dushanbe (Tajikistan), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Ashgabat (Turkmenistan), Kabul (Afghanistan) and Islamabad (Pakistan). Then add the Gulf capitals, which share their country's name: Kuwait City, Doha (Qatar), Manama (Bahrain).

Europe

Most European capitals are the largest city, so the traps are few: Bern (not Zurich), Amsterdam (official capital, though the government sits in The Hague) and the Balkan capitals – Skopje, Podgorica, Pristina, Sarajevo, Tirana.

North America

Central America is friendly: Guatemala City and Panama City are named after their countries, and San Salvador is the capital of El Salvador. In the Caribbean, learn island and capital in pairs: Castries–Saint Lucia, Roseau–Dominica, Kingstown–Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

South America

Only twelve capitals – start here. Remember the two famous traps: Brasília is the capital of Brazil (not Rio or São Paulo), and Bolivia's constitutional capital is Sucre, with La Paz as the seat of government.

Oceania

Canberra and Wellington are the big traps. For the Pacific, pair tiny capitals with their islands: Funafuti–Tuvalu, Yaren–Nauru, Majuro–Marshall Islands, Palikir–Micronesia, Ngerulmud/Melekeok–Palau.
